Ogun State Government has urged fish sellers to be patient with the Federal Government following the hike in prices of fish.

 Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Adijat Adeleye said this while addressing fish sellers at the state Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, who were on a peaceful protest.

Hon. Adeleye appealed to traders to be patient with the government stating that there has to be a holistic approach to resolving the hike in the prices of not only fish but other market commodities, saying 'hike in the price of fish was not only peculiar to the state, stating that the government was not unaware of the hardship faced by the people.

She said that the state government in line with the renewed hope agenda of the Federal Government was making frantic efforts through various reforms towards improving the welfare and well-being of its citizens.

Earlier, the leader of the fish sellers, Mrs Idiat Omoowo stated that the government should come to their aid as the hike in the price of fish has made their members run into debt and their means of livelihood are being affected.
