OGSG PROMISES TO SUPPORT OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE



Ogun State Government has restated its commitment to giving full support to anyone who puts the name of the State on the marble of success.


Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu said this in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, while receiving the contingents, who did the State proud at the just-concluded Maiden Edition of the U-15 Boys and Girls National Finals School Football Championship 'School Cup', organised by the Nigerian School Football Federation (NSFF).


Prof. Arigbabu commended the team and the coaches for their resilience, determination and achievements, saying they had made the State proud by coming back with such outstanding performances, even with the short notice as the Male teams won third position while the female second position and both won Fair Play award.


Arigbabu, who referred to them as teams of character, good performance, and fair play, said Orile Keesi Grammar School, Olodo in Odeda Local Government Area of the State had won three Laurels having represented the State in the Championship.


 "The Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration in its determination will continue to provide qualitative and accessible education to the citizenry. On behalf of every stakeholder in the education sector, I want to thank the Governor for his commitment and investment in education, not only in academics but also in School sports".


Earlier in his remarks, the Director of School Sports in the Ministry, Comrade Rotimi Okeleye appreciated the State government and the Ministry for its passion and motivation to see the learners soaring high in school sports, adding that the feat achieved by the learners was a result of the inspiration gotten through their support.


Speaking, the Principal, Orile Keesi Grammar School, Olodo, Mrs. Olusola Adepegba expressed her gratitude to the Ministry for deeming it fit to pick her school among others to represent the State in the National Competition, saying this had made the school popular.


The captain of the team, Miss Lydia Odey lauded the State government for the privilege to represent the State and for the warmth, hospitality, and care given to them during the competition, adding that they would continue to put in their best in both academics and subsequent School Sports Competitions.
