President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his 63rd Independence Anniversary broadcast on Sunday, said Monetary Policy shall be for the benefit of all and not the exclusive province of the wealthy.
He said this would be possible with the ongoing thorough house cleaning at the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Also, the President said that the findings of the probe of the Central Bank of Nigeria on the past lapse and how to prevent similar reoccurrences will be revealed soon.
In his 15-minute message to Nigerians, Tinubu assured that the country is progressing despite challenging economic challenges.
Tinubu assured that his government was doing all to ease the burden imposed by fuel subsidy removal on Nigerians.
“I pledged a thorough house cleaning of the den of malfeasance the CBN had become. That housecleaning is well underway.
A new leadership for the Central Bank has been constituted. Also, my special investigator will soon present his findings on past lapses and how to prevent similar reoccurrences.
“Henceforth, monetary policy shall be for the benefit of all and not the exclusive province of the powerful and wealthy”, he stated.
Recall that in July, Tinubu appointed Jim Obazee, a special investigator, to lead a probe of CBN.
