The Commissioner for Rural Development, Mrs. Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan has charged members of Staff of the Ministry to be up and doing in the discharge of their duties.

Ilori-Oduntan gave the charge while addressing the staffers as she resumed duty as commissioner, reiterating that the ministry remains the life and hope for the rural areas.

She said, "We need to be active and be selfless, we are here to complement and support the present administration in the provision of amenities to the rural areas, I believe that rural development is going to shine".

In his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Adetayo Adewale, hinted at a series of programmes lined up to empower rural communities in the State, noting that the Ministry has achieved a lot in combating open defecation, upgrading and maintenance of rural roads, provision of Solar lighting system among others.
