ADEGBESAN GIVE STEWARDSHIP REPORT; ASSURES OF QUALITY REPRESENTATION, EMPOWERMENTS






The lawmaker representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Adegbesan on Sunday October 8th, 2023 has rendered his account of stewardship to his constituents, with an assurance of improved quality representation, facilitation of projects from both federal and State Government, likewise people-driven empowerment programmes.


Adegbesan disclosed this during a town hall meeting held at Orimolusi Palace ground, noting that quality representation remained the only panacea to sustain the confidence of the electorate who voted him enmasse. 


He expressed that the town hall meeting became imperative to harness the people's  inputs, ideas for future projects, programs and policies that can address the specific needs of towns and villages in Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, which may be incorporated into the 2024 budget. 

Adegbesan said; "In my three months in office, efforts has been made  to connect Ogun Waterside Local Government to the National Grid to restore power supply, motion on revival of Apoje Palm Oil plantation and facilitation of an institute to the plantation has been submitted at the Green Chamber, while I have facilitated five appointments to some constituents through the Local Government Commission and additional three youths from this Federal Constituency has been appointed as staff of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps through my efforts. My fellow constituents, efforts is in top gear to finalize the employment process of some constituents in the Federal Civil Service Commission as soon government lifts the embargo on employment". 


Constituents who spoke in their respective remarks including community and religious leaders demanded for more infrastructural intervention including rehabilitation of rural roads and markets, provision of Solar-Powered street lights, Tractors, grants and fertilizers for farmers, eradication of farmlands encroachment  by fulani herdsmen among other requests.


Earlier in his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, who commended the representation style of Hon. Adegbesan described him as a worthy ambassador who has been committed to raising the standard of excellence.


Talabi said the State Government on its part has ensure community empowerment, wherein not fewer than 300 people from Ijebu North Local Government have benefitted from the grants disbursed to Small and Medium Scale business Owners, including Market women under the Og-Cares initiative in collaboration with the Federal Government.


He assured  that more  people from the local government will benefit from the proposed appointment of teachers by the state government following the pronouncement of the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun during the Teachers Day celebration, where he disclosed that he has employed one thousand teachers for public schools with additional two thousand Ogun Teach interns.


In his remarks, the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo, Oba Jayeoba  Adebajo commended Governor Abiodun for his  developmental strides in Ijebu North Local Government Area and the State at large. He encouraged the lawmaker to facilitate more employment opportunities to the teeming youths in the Federal Constituency.


The town hall meeting was attended by Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, Secretary to Ogun State Government, HRM Ọba Lawrence Adebajo, the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo, Oba Abayomi Olusesan Banjo, Olokinne of Ojowo; Oba Adewale Aderemi Ogunye, Abijaparako of Japara, Oba Abdul-Rasaq Olufemi Adebanjo, Oloru of Oru and Senator Adegbenga Kaka. 


Others present were Hon. Ademola Balogun, Ogun State Commissioner designate, Mr. Bolaji Odusanya, Executive Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government, APC Local Government Chairman, represented by his Vice-Chairman, Hon. Segeto,  Aare Safiriyu Kazeem, Former Deputy Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Tokunbo Oshin, Hon. Engr Segun Kaka, Member Ogun State House of Assembly, Former Council of Chairman, Hon. Tele Ogunjobi and Otunba Olaide Osifeso, APC Chieftains in Ijebu North Local Government Area, Council of Baalẹ and Oloritun, Religious leaders, Union and Association leaders, market women groups and community leaders amongst others.
