The people of Ilepa, Ogan tuntun and its environs in Ifo Local Government have been urged to embrace the initiative of the present administration to encourage citizens to perfect titles on the properties occupied by them, most importantly those occupying government-acquired land without proper documents.
The stakeholders who built on government-acquired land have been living in fear and anxiety for years with no hope of becoming the rightful owners of the property occupied by them.
The relief came when the task force from the Bureau of Lands and Survey was led by the team leader, Esv. Fatai Adeboyejo met with the stakeholders in the affected areas.
He opined that the State government was being humane and aimed at improving the livelihood of the people of the State, calling on them to come and regularise their title as ownership of land can only be affirmed under the title grant by the government and that any title outside that does not guarantee ownership.
Adeboyejo stressed that the present administration is people-friendly and would not subject them to hardship and loss of property.
In his remark, the Baale of Ogan Tuntun, Chief Bolade Olabinjo, appealed to the government to ensure that the ratification process is seamless and affordable considering the economic situation in the country.
Contributing, the Chairman of the Community Development Association in the area and the representatives of the stakeholders Mr. Lukmon Oke appreciated the government for coming to their aid and relieving them of their anxiety which daily tormented them as a result of building on acquired lands, adding that the community would key into the plan.
