More than 200 hundred indigents comprising the sick, aged and children in Ijemu, Lukosi and Afaja communities, in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, have received food items, clothes, shoes, school bags, text and exercise books from a Non-Governmental Organisation, Segunfunmi Cancer Support Foundation in partnership with Women Radio, Arepo, and some public-spirited individuals.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mrs. Funmilola Agbayewa, said feeding the poor was equal to serving God, appreciating other donors for their love and trust reposed in the vision of the Foundation to give back to the society.
According to Mrs. Agbayewa, “about 15 donors partnered with us to give out food items, clothes, shoes, school bags, text and exercise books, to make the event a success. With your donations, you are feeding three communities in Ogun State; the sick, aged and children. Your gestures will serve as a great relief to them”.
Expressing happiness on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mrs. Motunrayo Tijani applauded the donors for the gesture, saying, “no contribution is small to help in feeding the vulnerable in the society.
Highlights of the programme were free medical checkups, skills acquisition such as Afrocentric crafts, as well as hats, earrings, and shampoo making, among others.
