The authority of Ijebu North Local Government has commissioned multi-million naira projects to improve the socio-economic well-being of the people in the area, as it promises to sustain the legacy. The projects are a block of two classrooms with an office, store, and two toilets at Nawar-ud-deen Nursery and Primary School, Ago-Iwoye, 20 open stalls at Atikori Market, 10 modern toilets at Obada Market, an Abattoir, and a Recreation centre in the Local Government Secretariat.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Bolaji Odusanya, said the projects were part of activities put in place to commemorate his second year in office, noting that the projects cut across major communities in the council areas.
Hon. Odusanya stated that his administration would sustain the developmental legacy with more visionary initiatives that would address the challenges of people at the grassroots.
He said, "Permit me to inform the people of Ijebu North that we have delivered on the mandate given to us. We have been able to execute developmental projects in our various communities despite the global economic challenges and paucity of funds. Our administration has been prudent with available resources to execute people-oriented projects.
‘’I want to thank our benefactor, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who finds us worthy to be saddled with the responsibility of leading Ijebu North Local Government Area at this particular time. Our gratitude also goes to the political leaders in this reputable council".
While reeling out the projects that his administration had embarked on in the past, which included the re-roofing of the Water and Environmental Sanitation department block, painting of buildings in the secretariat, grading of some selected earth roads in Ago-Iwoye, assured the readiness of the Local Government to remain responsive and responsible towards its aspirations.
