The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, has urged Civil Servants in the State to always support their superiors in the course of discharging their statutory duties as this is tantamount to making the Service grow.
Mr. Fagbohun made this known in his office while presenting promotion letter to a visually impaired Assistant Director from the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Akindele Akinyemi.
According to him, the recipient has sown hard work, diligence, faithfulness and dedication, even when it was not convenient, to the service of the State and prayed God to enable him get to the peak.
"I thank God Almighty that I am the one presenting your letter of promotion from Grade Level 15 to 16, which is Deputy Director in the Civil Service. May God continue to be with you and make you get to the peak of your career in the Ogun State Civil Service", Mr. Fagbohun prayed.
The Head of Service admonished him to continue to be diligent, be himself and be a good role model to others despite his physical challenge and called on other workers to emulate his good deeds.
The presentation was done amidst encomium showered on Mr. Akinyemi, with a personal cash gift from the Head of Service.
In attendance, the Permanent Secretary from the recipient's Ministry, Mr. Waheed Adesina, who was overwhelmed with joy for the uncommon happening, advised the recipient to keep up the good work that earned him the good gesture, and added that there will always be a pay day for whatever a man does.
Responding, the new Deputy Director, Mr. Akindele Akinyemi in an emotion laden speech was full of appreciation to God and the Head of Service for the uncommon and rare privilege he enjoyed from him by personally presenting his letter of promotion to him in his office.
"Despite my challenge, I didn't deter from doing my best, I try to live by conquering them for the essence of living and without any intention of making gains but I thank God for giving me the gains of my expressions. I cannot tell you how flabbergasted I am for this rare privilege as I cannot say whether it had been extended to someone else in the past. I will not take it for granted, it will linger in my memory, I am humbled by this", Akinyemi said.
