Members of the Market Traders Association, in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State have attested to the benefits derived from the Oko’wo Dapo Financial Scheme, saying it had enhanced their businesses and lifted them out of poverty in the area.
Iyaloja General in the LG, Chief Mrs. Ola Oduwaye, who spoke with journalists during an interview in Falawo market, Sagamu, disclosed that the Scheme had allowed traders in the area to form a progressive business group consisting of 30 traders.
Mrs. Oduwaye stated that the easy mode of payment and revolving pattern of the scheme had improved trading activities among the women, and reduced financial dependence on the people in their quest for support.
Also speaking, General Secretary of the Association, Mrs. Ola Adelaja, appreciated the initiative and called on the government to release more funds, to enable other traders to benefit from the Scheme, highlighting some of the benefitting groups which include, Ifesowapo, Isokan, Ifesowapo, Ogooluwa, Ajewole, Alaseyori, Jesudunni, Ita-Aje, Orisunmibare, Ifelodun, Success, Owolowo, Asejere, Oreofe, among others .
