The Ogun State Government has revealed its plans to expose artisans in the State to periodic training programmes on functional literacy and help broaden their knowledge of calculation and technicalities in their different fields for increased productivity.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu made this known in Abeokuta during a courtesy visit of the Artisans Association of Nigeria (AAON), Ogun State chapter, led by its chairman, adding that a zero-interest rate loan facility would also be made available to support them in their businesses.
Prof. Arigbabu assured that the Ministry would engage members of the Association appropriately in the area of rehabilitation, renovation, and maintenance of government-owned schools, particularly in the area of furniture supply and plastering.
Earlier speaking, the President, AAON, Mr. Anthony Ayodele lauded the present administration for the support to the Association, promising members’ continuous synergy with the Ministry in technical and vocational training of learners.
In another development, Prof. Arigbabu has expressed appreciation to organisations and groups for their support to the present administration in repositioning the standard of education in the State.
The Special Adviser dropped the appreciation note while playing host to the Ogun State Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, assuring that the government would not relent in uplifting them irrespective of their religious background.
In her presentation, the State Ameerah of the Association, Alhaja Zainab Jinadu, who intimated the management of the Ministry on their contributions to the education sector in the State, promised to sustain the tempo through the introduction of innovations that would provide visible development for women, children, and the society at large.
