Tobi Amusan, the reigning world champion in the 100m hurdles, has been cleared to compete in the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Amusan was provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) in July for missing three consecutive doping tests. However, the AIU has now lifted the suspension, clearing Amusan to compete in the World Championships.
Amusan is one of Nigerian athletes who have been named to the team for the World Championships. Some of the women on the team are Rosemary Chukwuma, Ofili Favour, Faith Okwose, Eyakpobeyan Justina, Success Umukoro, Uko Nse Imaobong, Patience George, Ella Onojuvwevwo, Oke Opeyemi, Ruth Usoro, Amaechi Obiageri Pamela, Anumba Ashley, and Onyekwere Chioma.
The World Championships will be held from August 19-27 in Budapest.
