The Organised Labour has given an indication that it may reconsider its planned nationwide protest scheduled to commence on Wednesday.
According to POLITICS NIGERIA, the Secretary of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Emma Ugbaja, gave the indication at the end of the Presidential Steering Committee on Palliatives meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Ugbaja argued that while the measures announced by President Bola Tinubu on Monday evening were welcoming, they were not far-reaching enough.
He said the Labour team would go back to the bodies they represent to consult and achieve consensus on the next line of action.
The protest was initially planned to demand a reversal of the recent increase in fuel prices and electricity tariffs, as well as other economic measures that have been implemented by the government.
More details coming…
