Officers in the Procurement Cadre should develop a reformed mindset, to enable agencies of government to be more effective and efficient in the realisation of their goals.

          The Director General, Ogun State Bureau of Public Procurement, Dr. Adesina Olanloye, stated this when he received the management of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN), at his office in Abeokuta.

          Dr. Olanloye said the speedy creation of procurement bureaux and establishment of  Officers and sub-Officers cadre in the State Public Service would allow for fast-growing service delivery.

          He added that the State government’s Public Procurement Reform through the World Bank Intervention activities has assisted the Bureau to record remarkable success, maintaining the agency would not engage in any unprofessional practices, that would contravene the Procurement Law.

          He noted that the Public Procurement Law had been enacted in 2014 but never implemented by the previous government, lauding the present administration for the full implementation of the Law in all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of government, Tertiary Institutions and Local Government Areas.

          Speaking, the National President CIPSMN, Alhaji Sikiru Balogun said the Institute would ensure its members, adhere to the procurement procedures and global best practices to achieve greater results.

          Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer/Registrar (CIPSMN), Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed, stated that the visit to the agency was necessary as it would enable them to check on their members and know their state of being, expressing delight at the rate of growth of the Bureau within just three years of its establishment.
