OUR UNIFIED EXAMINATION IS TO ENHANCE QUALITY COMPETITIVENESS - GOV’s AIDE

 



          Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Education, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, says the purpose of introducing a Unified Promotion Examination in Public Secondary Schools across the State was to encourage quality competitiveness among the learners.


          Prof. Arigbabu said this during the monitoring of the 2022/2023 Third Term Examination in Obafemi-Owode and Abeokuta South Local Government Areas of the State, noting that the examination would also enhance the standard of education in government-owned schools and thereby making them be sought after, for anyone desiring qualitative teaching and learning.


          While expressing his satisfaction over the level of preparedness by the principals, invigilators and teachers for the smooth conduct of the examination, the Special Adviser said what was witnessed during the monitoring was an indication that the exercise was improving on a yearly basis.


          Arigbabu who was in company of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye and the Director, Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Mr. Oluwole Majekodunmi stated that the students would be writing Mathematics, Biology and Government subjects respectively, on the first day of the examination.


          He said "we’ve been very impressed with what we have seen, the examination started early enough, students were well arranged, well-spaced for examination purposes and Principals are also alive to their responsibilities’’.


          In their submissions, the Principals of Abeokuta Girls Grammar School, Onikolobo, Mesdames Tolulope Fasanya, Catholic Comprehensive High School, Onikolobo, Mojisola Pius and St. Leo's College (Senior), Onikoko, Olubola Akintayo, all in Abeokuta axis, applauded the Ministry for adequate and timely supplies of examination materials.


          Schools visited were Kobape Community High School, Kobape, Macjob Grammar School, Onikolobo, Abeokuta, Abeokuta Girls Grammar School, Onikolobo, Catholic Comprehensive High School, Onikolobo and St. Leo's College, Onikoko, Abeokuta.
