The labour leaders in Ogun State have expressed their appreciation on the recently rolled out palliative measures announced by the State Government.
The leaders, comprising Chairmen of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Com. Ademola Hammed-Benco, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Com. Akeem Lasisi and the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JNC), Com. Isa Olude thanked the State Government for the gesture and optimistic that the measures would be implemented as stated.
Speaking with the pressmen, the labour leaders said the palliative measures, including the release of the 2021/2022 promotion letters are good and would gladden the heart of the workers.
"This is a good one, it's a welcome idea and we are glad that we were part of the decisions" Hammed- Benco said.
The Chairman, TUC, Com. Akeem Lasisi thanked God for the feat and for receiving the audience of Gov. Abiodun to yield to the demands of labour.
"In the first instance we thank God for having the audience of Gov. Abiodun, and with these, he has exhibited uncommon political commitment towards workers' yearnings in the State", Com. Lasisi said.
The labour leaders also eulogized the state governor for remembering not only the Civil Servants but also the down trodden, the vulnerable and the pensioners in the State.
"We appreciate His Excellency for also remembering the vulnerable, less privileged and the pensioners in his palliative programmes as these would go a long way to motivate the State workers to do more for the State in the discharge of their duties", Com. Olude enthused.
The leaders jointly enjoined the state government to implement the measures without any delay.
