Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has revealed his list of commissioner nominees, including two former members of ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s cabinet.
The Osun State House of Assembly received the list in a letter from Governor Adeleke, which was read out by Speaker Adewale Egbedun during Friday’s plenary.
Among the nominees are Mr. Kolapo Alimi, who previously served as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Mr. Biyi Odunlade, who held the positions of Special Adviser and later Commissioner for Sports during Aregbesola’s tenure.
Alongside these familiar faces, Governor Adeleke has nominated an additional 23 individuals to fill the commissioner roles.
The newly nominated individuals include Barr. Oladosu Babatunde, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, Mr. Sesan Epharaim Oyedele, Mr. Soji Ajeigbe, Mr. Moshood Olagunju, Hon. George Alabi, Hon. Sunday Oroniyi, Mr. Abiodun Ojo, Dr. Basiru Salami, Mr. Morufu Ayofe, Mr. Sola Ogungbile, and Rev. Bunmi Jenyo.
The list continues with Mrs. Ayo Awolowo, Barr. Wole Jimi Bada, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, Alh. Rasheed Aderibigbe, Prof. Morufu Adeleke, Mr. Adeyemo Ademola, Mr. Olabiyi Odunlade, Barr. Jola Akintola, Mr. Mayowa Adejorin, Mrs. Folashade Adeleke, Mr. Tola Faseru, and Alh. Ganiyu Olaoluwa.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, it was announced that the House of Assembly has established an Ad-Hoc Committee to conduct a preliminary screening of the nominees.
Following this initial screening, the nominees will appear before the House for a full screening and confirmation.
