Civil Servants in the State have been called upon to discharge their duties with diligence in the course of serving the public.
The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun who doubled as the Chairman of the occasion made the call at the reception organised in honour of Mrs. Olusola Osasona's diamond birthday anniversary and retirement from the Ogun State Civil Service held at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps' College hall at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
Mr. Fagbohun urged the workers to handle the affairs committed in their hands with the fear of God, diligence and love for one another, which he described as the greatest love.
"Discharge your duties with diligence, note that we serve the public, handle the affairs committed to you with fear of God, be godly and love one other because there is no other law greater than this" HoS enthused.
Mr. Fagbohun eulogized the celebrant whom she said had served creditably, even sacrificially for the State Civil Service, adding that she had watered and shall be watered back.
He therefore thanked God for making Mrs. Osasona to land safely after serving the State meritoriously and prayed that Ogun State will serve her more than she served the State.
Earlier, Pastor Olukunle Oyekunle in his message titled "A life of positive impact" and referenced from the book of Luke Chapter 12 and verse 15 urged the people to strive to impact the lives of others positively by consciously remembering that others would greatly benefit from their actions or inactions while striving to leave legacy that people would follow.
In their separate remarks, the duo of Hon. Daisi Elemide, the Chairman, House committee on Transportation, Ogun State House of Assembly and the immediate past Commissioner for Transportation in the State, Engr. Gbenga Dairo thanked God for the selfless service that the celebrant rendered to the State and for making her to end her career well in the Civil Service, and added that she should make herself available for the State anytime the State needs to tap from her wealth of experience.
Also, Permanent Secretaries, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye and Mr. Jola Oyeneye mni said she served well and diligently, urging her to rest well after retirement.
Mr. Olusegun Awojobi, a brother of the celebrant described her as a good mother, a disciplinarian and one who loves everyone with a large heart.
In her response after the cutting of her birthday/ retirement cake, Mrs. Osasona thanked the Almighty God for making her to see the glorious day and thanked all who had come to celebrate her on the auspicious occasion of her 60th birthday and retirement from the service of Ogun State Government.
The celebrant later cut the birthday and retirement cake with the Head of Service directing the affairs.
