The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, has commended the Parking Management Scheme for sanitising the traffic situation in Abeokuta and its environs, with a charge on it to continue to improve on its rough edges.

Mr. Fagbohun gave the commendation when the Management of the Scheme led by its Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Wale Yusuff paid him a visit in his office.

According to him, the Parking Management Officers should ensure that they remain civil in their operations, continue to add value, engage in more enlightenment programmes and curb indiscriminate parking by the motorists, all these the Head of Service said would continue to make the government partner with the organisation.

“Continue to do the right things, not to just make money, but continually help the State in sanitising the traffic system, deal well with the people and they will cooperate with you because whatever you do has serious implications on the image of the government”, the HoS advised.

Earlier in his submission, the Chief Operating Officer of the Scheme, Engr. Yusuff, while appreciating the Office of the Head of Service for its past support to the Scheme said he came with the Scheme's enforcement team to acquaint the HoS with the operational system of the scheme which he said is a Public/Private Partnership between the Ogun State Government and a private organisation called the Standard Solution.

He said it was aimed at decongesting traffic in the city of Abeokuta and other cities in the State and to protect the rights of offenders through the operation policy and grievance procedure, adding that the scheme had put in place feedback mechanism to help improve its operations.

Engr. Yusuf said the Scheme enjoys good synergy with other security agencies in the State and hinted that it would phase out cash transaction for electronic payment as it is being done in other organisations to maintain its zero tolerance for corruption.
