The baales in Orile Imo, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ogun State, have endorsed High Chief Dr. Olakunle Olalekan as their prefferred choice for the next Olu of Orile Imo.
The 30 baales gave their endorsements in an open letter which was separately signed by them and made available to news men in Abeokuta , Ogun State.
The letter reads "RE: Vacant Stool Of Olu of Orile Imo Presentation Of Chief Olakunle Olalekan Joseph As The community's Choice To The Throne Of Olu Of Orile Imo.
"We the undersigned are the Palace Chiefs and Baales of our beloved Orile Imo Town, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. The Stool of the Olu of Orile Imo had for years now been vacant and unfilled upon the demise of Late Oba Kolawole Olatunji Olubiyi who happens to be the last occupant of the stool
"In line with the yearning and agitations of our people and the entire Orile Imo Community, which said agitation is geared toward filling the exalted but vacant stool of Olu of Orile Imo.
"Consequent to the above sir, we being the palace chiefs and baales upon deliberation with concerned stakeholders in the community (to with; the youths, market leaders, religious leaders and traditionalists) have arrived at a unanimous conclusion regarding our choice as to the next Olu of Orile Imo.
"We on behalf of the entire Orile Imo Community hereby present to your revered office the person of Chief Olakunle Olalekan Joseph as the stake holders and entire community's choice to ascend to the throne of Orile Imo as our king and monarch.
"Sir, we are certain that the emergence of the next Olu of Oriie Imo will bring about development in leaps in our dear Orile Imo. We trust your kind intervention on this noble aspiration of ours".
All the 30 baales said Chief Olakunle if given the chance will be approachable, open, and attentive to the needs of the people living in his realm
