Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has challenged higher Institutions in the country to prioritize human capital development in tandem with the nation’s societal development needs.
The Governor who stated this at the Doctoral Convocation of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, said “we must appreciate that the development of any society is as a result of its available human capital, especially in critical areas of need.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of Ogun State, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, Abiodun, maintained that no nation can develop beyond its human capacity, noting that the state being the education capital of Nigeria under his watch is genuinely committed to propelling necessary indices for becoming the education excellence capital of Africa.
He commended Babcock University for rising up to the challenge saying “the list of Doctoral graduates reflects the very needed areas of human capacity needed for the continued development of our society”.
Abiodun therefore charged higher institutions to recognize their comparative advantage in their collaboration with the government for human capital development, assuring that his administration remained committed to the development of the education sector, especially tertiary institutions, whether owned by the government or private organizations.
