No fewer than 500 residents have benefited from the free medical checks organised by US Doctors, Ajose foundation in collaboration with the Akarigbo and paramount Ruler of Remoland, HRH Oba Babatunde Ajayi to further ensure a healthy lifestyle in the community.
Oba Ajayi while addressing beneficiaries at the programme held at the Akarigbo's palace, Sagamu enjoined them to always take care of their health, saying that an healthy man is a wealthy man.
He explained that it was a yearly programme to ensure that people have access to free medical care once a year, thanking the US Doctors for their continuous support to further enhance healthy living.
In her remarks, Dr. Kemi Ogunwusi, MD/CEO Medicare Incorporation, United State of America (USA), said that the programme was organised every year to support the efforts of the Akarigbo in his bid to ensure healthy living in the community, saying that various medical checks ranging from HIV screening, High blood pressure screening, blood sugar, cancer screening, test, acupuncture management and others were attended to and given 2 weeks medicine and refer them to their doctors.
She advised them to make their health a priority and take care of their health as well as body as they take care of their car engine, saying that prevention is better than cure.
She lauded the Dapo Abiodun led administration for being formidable at ensuring that citizens of the state are well taken care of medically, saying that his efforts on health sector was highly commendable.
In separate interviews, Elder Adeleke Olasimbo, farmer and Mrs. Nuratu Nojeem, trader, appreciated the organiser of the programme for given them the opportunity to check their health status, saying that many people were able to check their blood pressure for the first time.
