Ogun Pilgrims to the 2023 Holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina have expressed appreciation to the State government for the various welfare packages put in place to make their stay in the Holy land seamless and a memorable one.
Speaking with Journalists in Mecca, one of the Pilgrims, Alhaji Bala Al-Hassan, a businessman, commended the State government for prioritising their welfare and also salute Board members and the officials for their resilience and unflinching support towards ensuring their wellbeing.
He noted that despite being from the Northern region, all pilgrims were treated fairly and equally, affirming that Ogun
State does not discriminate nor tribalised on matters affecting the pilgrims.
In his submission, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Adedokun who is also a bisinessman lauded the government for responding quickly to issues as event demands, highlighting some of their giant strides to include; good accomodation, provision of balanced diets, as well as early airlifting of Pilgrims among others.
His words "I contacted some of the Pilgrims in other States and compared note and I can boldly say that, Ogun State is the best to reckon with when it comes to Hajj exercise."
In their separate remark, Alhaji Olamilekan Ayoola and Alhaji Soliu Olatunji who are also businessmen applauded government for being supportive and having their welfare at heart, promising to reciprocate the gesture by being good ambassadors of the State.
Alhaja Shoyemi Risquat and Alhaja Hussaynat Kareem, both traders, unanimously agreed that Ogun Pilgrims Board performed beyond their expectation in the area of religious activities, visitation of holy places among others.
