The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun has congratulated the female football team from the main stream of the Civil Service that did the Service proud in the just concluded Public Service Day celebrations.
The Head of Service gave the team the thumbs up while receiving the winning team who came to present the trophy to him in his office.
According to him, for the team to have emerged victorious, it went through many rigours, and advised them to translate the lessons learnt from the endeavour to their individual professions and jobs in their respective offices.
He charged them to be disciplined, focused, have set goals and purposes as they pursue their Civil Service career, and added that anyone who wants to live a successful life must possess these qualities in order to continue to excel in life.
"I congratulate you on this victory. Keep on serving Ogun State, keep on doing your bit, one day, you will be celebrated as it is now, as your reward will surely come. Work on yourselves, be diligent, disciplined, resourceful and focused", the HoS charged.
Presenting the team earlier to the HoS, the Coach, Wale Adetunji, described the Head of Service as a 'lucky man' whose coming on board ushered in victory as the cup returned to the main stream last year since 4 years ago that it had moved out.
In a vote of thanks, the Captain of the team, Odunayo Kushimo, from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, expressed appreciation to the HoS and all Permanent Secretaries for their support at not disappointing them and the Civil Service at large.
Similarly, the Head of Service received the male winning team from the Parastatals in his office, with a charge to them to strive on, to keep attaining greater heights.
He described this year's victory for them as a come back, as previous years of defeat prepared them anew to become victorious.
"Don't get stuck at challenges, work towards overcoming them. Continue to be disciplined, focused and put the big picture of success before you to be victorious in your career paths", Mr. Fagbohun urged.
Responding, the Captain of the team, Oluwatoyin Adejumo, from the TRACE Corps, appreciated the HoS and the Permanent Secretaries for their unflinching support and promised not to relent at becoming victorious in subsequent competitions.
In attendance was Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Establishments and Training, Mrs Lydia Fajounbo, her counterparts from Bureaus of Political Affairs and Administration, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, Public Service Reforms, Mr. Jola Oyeneye, Service Matters, Mr. Hammed Ojo and Govt House, Mr. Shamsideen Adenopo.
