A member of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State, Otunba Sunday Olalekan Akintunde has declared his intention to contest for the position of a transport union leader in the state.
Akintunde who was a member of APC youth committee during the last Governoship election is contesting to be the next 'Okada' union leader in the second term of the Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun
The APC member who is from Odeda local government made the official declaration today during a meeting with some of the union members at Elega, Abeokuta Ogun State.
Akintunde maintained that he has what it takes to become the transport union leader in the State, saying that he is optimistic of victory.
While asking about the name of the union, Akintunde said he the he didn't want to mention for now , saying that very soon it will be announced.
He added that if given the chance to be a transport union leader, he would not disappoint his people.
Akintunde informed that he will bring up different programmes that will solve the challenges some union members are facing currently.
"Today, I want to officially declare my intention to contest for a position of a transport union leader in Ogun State. I want to be a state chairman of a union which I will not mention its name for now but I am aspiring to be the next transport union leader. Our people are suffering , the youths are not benefiting, they complain all the time. During my time, I will ensure I put smiles on my people's faces. I will empower them and give them sense of belongings. I will always ensure peace reigns.
"I want to call on you all to support my ambition. I promised not to fail you. I will perform beyond your expectations'' he concluded
