Following a rainstorm last weekend which destroyed roofs and led to the loss of goods worth millions of naira at the Oba Lipede Ultra-Modern Market, Kuto, Abeokuta, the Ogun State Government has assured stakeholders that it would ensure repair of the destroyed portion of the facility for continuity of trading activities within the affected area.

          Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola gave the assurance when he led officials of the Ministry on an assessment visit to the Market in the company of Chairman, Ogun State Market Development Board, Hon. Razak Daddah.

          Aikulola, who sympathised with the traders noted that the present administration remained committed to easing the plight of traders, adding that the government had consistently over the years proven to be proactive and appropriately responsive as the situation demands.

          "We will move into action immediately. This government led by Governor Dapo Abiodun is quite responsive and responsible. The Governor is someone that has the interest of the people at heart, especially market men and women. So be assured of government’s intervention", he said.
