It was backslapping and encomium showering galore for the Secretary, Alternate Medicine Board, Dr. Kafayat Modupe Lawal, as a surprise get together was organised in her honour as she attained golden jubilee anniversary.
Leading the backslapping at the event held at the Events Tower, Kuto, Abeokuta was the the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun who described the celebrant as a woman of strong character whose selfless service to the State Government has earned a positive reward as witnessed by all on her birthday.
He said a time of harvest will surely come, therefore everyone must always endeavour to sow the right seeds in order to get bountiful results as Dr. Lawal was being celebrated for her good deeds.
"You are a woman of strong character and strength who ought to have broken down but has remained resolute via selfless service both to government and people around you. You'd been sowing without knowing when the harvest would come but here we are today, positive reward has rolled in with this surprise party. I urge you to continue to be your best and God will continue to lift you up" Mr. Fagbohun prayed.
The Head of Service, while congratulating the "birthday girl" enjoined all Civil Servants to continue to support the State Government to deliver on its mandate to the people of the State and continue to support the ideals of the Public Service for overall development.
On her part, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, while eulogising the celebrant for her knowledge, skills, capacity and competence in the discharge of her statutory duties to make her Board grow in leaps and bounds, prayed God to replenish, bless, uplift, advance and provide for her as she enters her year of jubilee.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Alternate Medicine Board, Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye, described Dr. Lawal as a straight forward to a fault woman, pleasant, nice, good manager of people and resources, a goal getter and a mediator who ensured cordial and smooth working relationship between them and the alternate medicine practitioners who are their first audience in the Board.
Joining in the eulogy, the bosom friend of the celebrant, the Olori of Obalufe, Olori Adedayo Adediwura, said she and her friend had come a long way right from their childhood and they're still together standing strong and undivided; she described Dr. Lawal as a faithful friend who is passionate about the welfare and well being of others and always ready to proffer solutions to any problem laid before her.
Responding, the celebrant, Dr. Kafayat Modupe Lawal, appreciated God for sparing her life as she had been through a lot that would have swept her under the carpet but thanked all her pillars of support who didn't let her down when she needed them most.
Full of emotion and gratitude to the organisers of the bash, she said she felt great and honoured as she didn't expect the magnitude of the surprise, as she just laid her father to rest a few days ago and wasn't willing to do anything, yet, she was celebrated in such manner and prayed God for enablement to do more in service delivery as a lot of untapped potentials are embedded in the Board and the process of unraveling them are ongoing.
In attendance were the Rep-elect, Hon. Tunji Akinosi, Hon. Omolaja Majekodunmi, Permanent Secretaries, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo, Dr. Kayode Oladeinde, Dr.Qudus Yusuff, NMA Chairman, Dr. Kunle Ashimi, directors, members of staff of the Board, amongst others.
