COMPLY WITH CIVIL SERVICE RULES, ETHICS, PS CHARGES OGEPA STAFF

 



          Staffers of the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) have been admonished to ensure teamwork for effective implementation of the government’s policies and programmes, to enable the present administration to deliver dividends of democracy to the citizenry.


          Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engr. Rasak Ojetola gave the admonition in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, during the opening of a Day In-house training organised for the management and administrative staff of OGEPA with the theme; "Civil Service Ethics And Aspirations For Optimum Service Delivery".


          Engr. Ojetola said it was imperative for the higher cadres in the Civil Service to know what is obtainable in recent times, for efficient and effective discharge of their duties, stating that the training would enrich participants' practical experience in the State Public Service.


          He said, ‘’the training is aimed at refreshing and deepening staff operational understanding of their roles as Civil Servants for efficient service delivery in driving the overall development of the State.


           The Permanent Secretary pointed out that OGEPA was saddled with the responsibility of periodic surveillance of the environment at ensuring a healthy atmosphere for the residents, charging the participants to make use of knowledge gained for the progress of the Ministry and workforce.


          In his presentation, the guest speaker, who is also Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, Mr. Kolawole Ogunlana,  stated that civil servants must be well disciplined and be honest in the discharge of their duties and in their dealings with the public, pointing out that the populace sees them as a representative of the government.


          He admonished senior staff to lead by example by complying with the prescribed code of conduct noting that effective leadership involves exemplary character, hard work, and transparent integrity.


          Speaking on behalf of the participants, the Inspectorate and Compliance Monitoring Director, Mr. Babatunde Lawal commended the facilitator for the admonition, imploring staff of the agency to work as a team and abide by  government-regulated ethics, in order to bring a sense of unity, collaboration and motivation to the workplace.
