Rural dwellers in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State have commended the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for the provision of potable water through motorised solar-powered boreholes to the 11 wards in the council area.
Speaking with newsmen in Ayetoro, Baale of Ayegbami, Oke-Rori, Ayetoro, Chief Ishola Olaode said the intervention would reduce the sufferings of the people on water supply and the prevalence of waterborne diseases, among others in the area.
Olaode stated that the government's stride in making water available to the grassroots had greatly improved the standard of living in the council area.
Contributing, the Mayegun of Ayetoro, Chief Ramoni Adeniyi, said he was confident that the provision of motorised and solar-powered boreholes in communities would enable the people to get safe water and promote hygiene, pledging to work with other relevant stakeholders in the council to ensure sustainability of the project.
In the same vein, Mrs. Raliat Elegbede and Madam Doyin Olabode of Ayegbami, Oke-Rori lauded Governor Abiodun for his efforts at ensuring that people in the rural areas benefited from the gesture of the present administration in the State.
