NEW HoS, KOLAWOLE FAGBOHUN CELEBRATED IN GRAND STYLE

 



It was backslapping and celebration galore at the DLK Event Centre, NNPC Road, Abeokuta where top government functionaries, Civil/Public Servants royal fathers, old school mates, colleagues, family members and friends of Mr. Kolawole Peter Fagbohun gathered to celebrate and rejoice with their own, on his appointment as the 19th Head of Service of Ogun State.


Opening the floor for encomiums on the HoS was the Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, who described Mr. Fagbohun as someone who has brought wealth, riches and honour to the Civil Service and urged him to retain such. 


He said Mr Fagbohun, as his name, Peter implies is a city on the hills that cannot be hidden and prayed God for wisdom, understanding and strength to pull through, as better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.


"On behalf of His Excellency, I want to congratulate you for a deserved position, and to appreciate God on your behalf that in His infinite mercies, He has done you well", he said.


Also speaking, a retired Head of Service/ Secretary to the State Government, Otunba Babatunde Osokoya said the new Head of Service has been doing well since their paths crossed many years ago and charged him to continue being good.


Adding his voice, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, who doubles as the Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, HRM, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, represented by the Obiri of Ayepe, Oba Adebisi Okubanjo, appreciated the celebrant whom he said had worked judiciously with the Council as PS, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and added that his "omoluwabi" traits earned him the position and prayed God to make him succeed.


On his part, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, represented by the Olu of Imasayi, Alayeluwa Oba Engr. Lukman Kuoye, assured the people and government that the Ilobi-born Peter Fagbohun would not disappoint them in his new assignment.


In the same vein, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiu Hamzat described Mr. Fagbohun as a good brother while working together and appreciated the State Governor for the appointment.


On his part, a former General Manager of OGBC, Mr. Alex Taiwo, assured the new HoS of more good things loading, as this appointment is just the beginning.


Also, on behalf of retired Permanent Secretaries, Alhaji Nurudeen Lawal, while appreciating God for making them to be living witnesses, described Mr. Fagbohun as a competent, capable, knowledgeable and distinguished administrator, whose wealth of experience had brought so far and prayed for more wisdom, good health and sagacity to carry on.


In their separate submissions, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Mrs. Olusola Osasona, who spoke on behalf of the Body of Permanent Secretaries, said all the Body is full of, is thanks unto God for His faithfulness upon the Civil Service and prayed for safe landing for him; while the coordinator of the Administrative Officers' Group, Mrs. Roseline Jacobs, appreciated the governor for counting KP worthy of the position and assured that the Civil Service will not remain the same.


Representing the  Fagbohun family, Mrs. Roseline Fakorede, appreciated the governor and government of Ogun State for the honour done the family via their son and pledged that he won't let down all stakeholders and the family as a whole.


Responding, the celebrant of the day, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, was full of thanks to God for making him to be alive to witness the elevation, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for making him the 19th HoS, all his mentors for their good work over him, the Body of Permanent Secretaries, colleagues, friends, family members, workers and well wishers for their love for the honour done him and solicited for their support in the new assignment, as a tree cannot make a forest.


He assured that the Civil Service will continue to deliver in the ISEYA mantra of the present administration.


Highlights of the event was the rendering of his old school's anthem by the Old students of Egbado College, Ilaro, and presentation of gifts.


The event had dignitaries from the four corners of the State in attendance including the Executive Secretary, Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria, Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose, retired Heads of Service, Elder Sola Adeyemi and Tpl. Amope Chokor as well as retired Permanent Secretaries, amongst others.
