Two persons were reportedly killed in a cult clash that took place in Sagamu, Ogun State.
According to DAILY POST, it was learnt that one policeman was also shot in the clash that caused panic among residents of the ancient town between Wednesday and Thursday.
The crisis which reportedly started in Agbowa spread to other parts of Sagamu.
A resident of the town said rival cult members had engaged in a supremacy battle, shooting and chasing one another with dangerous weapons.
At the end of the clash, two dead bodies were found,” the source who spoke on condition of anonymity told DAILY POST.
According to him, a young man was shot dead at Agbowa, Makun, behind Sagamu Town Hall, while another one was murdered in another location.
The Ogun State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, saying a policeman was shot by the cultist, and was rushed to hospital.
“It happened last night and spread to the early morning of Thursday. We have arrested about seven suspects.
“They shot a policeman and we have extracted some pellets of cartridges from his body. He is in a stable condition on admission in a hospital,” Oyeyemi said.
