Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has challenged Chartered Accountants to continue to be steadfast in upholding probity and accountability wherever they found themselves as critical stakeholders to promoting transparency in nation building.
Abiodun stated this when he received a delegation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants(ICAN), Abeokuta District Society who had visited the Governor to congratulate on his re-election and formally invite him to its 40th Anniversary holding later in the month.
Abiodun who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi speaking further said " you such a critical role to play in calling the authorities that be to order where necessary particularly as it relates to public financial management in line with international best practices while you must also been seen as upholding your integrity as financial experts."
The Governor assured the professional body of the commitment of his administration to its course pledging that his government will give necessary support towards the district's 40th anniversary and project.
Earlier in his remarks, the ICAN Chairman of the District, Dr Adegboyega Afolabi commended the governor on his reelection saying it was " a well deserved victory".
Afolabi said the visit was also an opportunity to officially intimate the governor on the district anniversary holding later in the month while he urged government to continue provide opportunity for capacity development of its
Members serving in the civil service.
