Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has told the club to replace right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, insisting that the England international needs help
Carragher, a former defender, admitted that Trent may never be ‘good enough’ defensively.
The 24-year-old has shone as one of the best right-backs in World football, playing an integral role in Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp.
The defender has been heavily criticised this season as his defensive contribution continues to drop.Liverpool suffered a 6-2 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid who dumped them out of the Champions League on Wednesday night with Trent given a torrid evening by Vinicius Jr at the Bernabeu.
“What’s happened this season with him lacking defensively can’t continue,” Carragher told CBS Sports.
“The problem they have got in that position is they have never had real competition. And one of the reasons why is because he has been so good.
“Liverpool are at the point now where they have got to go and buy a right-back. He needs help,” he added.
