As part of efforts at improving social economic growth in urban and rural communities in the State, the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration has commenced the official inauguration of energised transformers across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State.
Prince Abiodun had in November last year pledged donations of transformers to communities in the 20 Local Government Areas of the State during the 2022 International Community Day celebration in Abeokuta.
Inaugurating the energised transformers in Ewekoro and Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Areas, Prince Abiodun, said the donation of the transformers was an indication that government was determined to improve living standard of its citizens by liberating them out of prolonged darkness, as well as improve their business activities.
Represented by the Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Abayomi Hunye, Abiodun, said the present administration has continuously yielded to the plights of its people when it comes to providing social amenities that would make life comfortable for them and boost the State economy.
He charged the beneficiary communities of Abule Ake, Akiyole, Obada Oko in Ewekoro Local Government Area and Oloko Community, Iyedi Titun Osi of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, where the flag off took place to ensure maximum provision of security at preventing the transformers from being vandalised.
Speaking on behalf of the benefiting communities, the Chairman, Oloko Community in Ado-Odo/ Ota, Mr. James Adelowo, commended the government for coming to their aid and taking them out of darkness, revealing that their community had been in darkness since 2003,
