The new leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Ogun State Chapter has been charged with the need to keep stabilising the Civil Service for upward movement, devoid of rancour or strive.
The Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro, gave the charge when he received the newly elected executive members of the Labour Union led by the Chairman, Comrade Hammed-Benco Ademola during a courtesy/farewell visit to the HoS in his office.
According to Dr. Aigoro, the cooperation and support extended to his office since he assumed the position in the last 16 months made him succeed in all his endeavours and solicited the same to be given to his successor, in order to keep moving the Service forward.
While appreciating the Labour union for their understanding and cooperation, the Head of Service urged the leadership to always embrace discussion when issues arise and not make strike an option.
He assured that all that the Chairman tabled before him is receiving the government's attention as it would always make workers’ welfare a priority.
Earlier, the Chairman said the purpose of the visit was to commend the uncommon exemplary leadership traits of the Head of Service, especially as he attended promptly to labour matters and never handled any with levity.
He asked that the Memorandum of Action (MoA) signed by both parties be actualised to further better a lot of the workers.
