There was a mild drama between the Nigeria Police and controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, on Tuesday.
The ‘Zahzooh’ crooner took to his Instagram page to share a live video of himself resisting arrest from the men of the force who stormed his wine bar.
In the video, the singer was seen challenging the authority of the policemen as they tried to whisk him away.
He claimed an internet fraudster hired the officers to arrest him and some of his staff.
Portable told the policemen that he is a “superstar” and works for the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, so he can’t be arrested.
One of the officers told him that he had been petitioned at their station. However, Portable continued to resist arrest, insisting that he is a “federal government liability”.
He said, “You dey tell superstar say ‘you are under arrest’. In my office? You are telling me you are under arrest for what? Why why? Did I know you?
“Petition against me that’s why you come and scattered my bar? You come and everybody is running up and down. Even me…You [are supposed] to call me then I will come to your office or my manager will come. I have manager.”
The police officers told him to cooperate, adding that what he is doing will not help him.
Portable fumed: “No, don’t tell me this one I’m doing will not help me. I’m a superstar. I’m a celebrity. Show me your ID cards everybody. Show me your ID card oga….I’m a federal government liability. I work for APC. Akoi Tinubu. We own Nigeria,” he added.
