A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said Saturday’s governorship election would decide who owns Lagos State. This was as Fani-Kayode said Lagos State would face the stiffest test and challenge on the identity of the state.
In a tweet, he urged Yorubas and people of good conscience to vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday. He wrote: “On Sat. 18th March Lagos State will face the stiffest test & greatest challenge to its efficacy & identity since it came into existence. The question of who owns Lagos will finally be determined & the guests that seek to claim Yoruba land as their own will be put in their place.
“I urge every son & daughter of the Yoruba together with all men & women of goodwill to come out on that day and vote for @jidesanwoolu who has proved that he is not only a true omo-oluabi but also a first-class leader and administrator.”Following the presidential election, there have been a squabble between Yorubas and Igbos in Lagos State.
This followed the victory of the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Lagos State.
A market predominantly occupied by Igbos in Lagos State went up in flames after the election, with many alleging political thugs were behind the inferno.
