Development Partners Coordination team, under the Office of the Chief Economic Adviser who oversees Projects and Programmes across health, agriculture, education sectors, amongst others in Ogun State received strong appreciation message for the Governor by the over 35, 000 project beneficiaries across the 20 LGAs in Ogun State.
The Association of project beneficiaries endorsed the second term bid of the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun due to the overwhelming support they have received on grants, credits, capacity building, inputs, equipment etc and the excellent performance of his Excellency in the last four years of this administration. The endorsement was made today by the Association of Beneficiaries of the Poor, Vulnerable, Needy, Farmers, Oko Owo Dapo and Livelihood support programmes amongst others at the State Presidential Lodge, Kuto, Abeokuta.
The Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Development Partners, Hon. Bayo Adenekan, noted that the groups came to give testimonials of the laudable works of the Dapo Abiodun-led administration over the past three and half years in the State, stating that OGUN-CARES; FADAMA, CSDA, LIVELIHOOD, LIPW & MSMEs, Others include; Nigeria For Women Program NFWP, Value Chain Development Programme VCDP, Oko Owo Dapo, PEWASH in the water sector etc were all present.
Mr. Adenekan, who revealed that the Governor has done excellently in the areas of “ISEYA” mantra including Infrastructure, Social wellbeing & Welfare, Youth empowerment, Agriculture, and many others, said the association came to show appreciation to the Governor for his commendable efforts in the State, especially to the poor and vulnerable citizens of the State. “The Governor’s achievements in critical sectors of the economy of the State are endearing, and we are convinced that it needs to be sustained. He has devised various means, including providing needed infrastructure, security and creating an enabling environment for more investments aimed at increasing the State’s Internally Generated Revenue”, the SSA revealed.
The beneficiaries of each project and programmes spoke with passion to reel out some of the benefits gained, representing Nigeria for Women Project group, Mrs. Aminat Yusuf appreciated the Governor for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the State, especially, small and medium scale enterprises, saying she knows the process of financial savings, writing of business plans all from the lectures received during her Women Affinity Groups training.
Representing Livelihood Support programme, Mrs. Fayombo Raimot Adeola commended the Governor for providing interest-free loans to petty traders and artisans to boost their businesses, saying it has in no small measure improved their standard of living.
Representing OGCARES, Mrs. Tosin Babayemi submitted that the people-oriented programmes put in place by the Governor has in no small measure touched the lives of the beneficiaries, saying members of the association are grateful to the State Government for ensuring individual prosperity of the down-trodden.
The 35, 000 members of the association, who reiterated their readiness to go out en-masse to vote, described the Governor as “lover of the poor and vulnerable” and to mobilize their household, family members and the communities where they reside to vote Dr. Dapo Abiodun on the 11th of March 2023.
All project managers, led by Engineer Shakirudeen Sallam and Director, DPC, were present to add colour to the occasion and praised His Excellency for his good works in the last three and half years and pray for him to succeed at the poll and emerged the Governor again so that he can continue to create individual prosperity for all citizens and to scale up current projects in the state to affect more and more beneficiaries.
