The Ogun State Government has promised to put in place more policies that will ensure the effective implementation of projects for the benefit of its citizenry.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Planning, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Dada stated this when she and his counterpart in the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mufutau Towolawi received the National Economic Council Implementation Committee (NEC-IMC) delegation from Abuja at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Dada pointed out that the present administration had enacted laws which include, the fiscal responsibility law 2020, the Public Procurement law 2020, the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, and the Medium Term Revenue Strategy in line with the dictate of international best practices, to enhance effective implementation of projects.
She added that the introduction of the financial reforms had helped the government with fiscal discipline and a sustainable budget such as 60/40 capital and recurrent expenditure ratio.
On his part, Mr.Towolawi said the State had implemented a Medium-Term Revenue Strategy which had enabled the government to identify major generating revenue agencies and improve revenue potential to realise the capital project being budgeted for.
He added that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration had initiated several revenue transformations to boost the generation drive, stating that the State would continue to strengthen its revenue agencies and leverage Information and Communication Technology, as well as ensure the sustainability of digital payment methods.
Also speaking, his counterpart in Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye said a robust education sector portal system had been launched through the OGSERA platform, where learners would have access to obtain forms into primary schools, while parents could have access to the report cards of their children through the site.
In his presentation, the team led by Mr. Giade Bala, Assistant Director, Ministry of Budget and National Planning commended the State government for initiating various reforms and policies for budget sustainability.
