MONARCH EMPHASISES ROLES OF STAKEHOLDERS IN PROMOTING CULTURAL HERITAGE

 



The Ewusi of Makun in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Timothy Akinsanya said parents, extended family, school and organisation as an agent of socialisation have major roles to play in the promotion of cultural heritage.


  Oba Akinsanya made this known during the 25th Obaruwa Festival of Arts and Culture tagged: ‘’Promoting Our Cultural Heritage for a Secured Future’’ saying discipline should be instilled in children to prevent them from tarnishing the image of their homes, families and the society at large.


The Monarch advocated for the re-orientatation of youths to secure their future, saying Obaruwa festival was aimed at uniting all Makun indigenes both home and abroad, especially the youth, to facilitate and share ideas on how to move the community and the State forward.


Oba Akinsanya commended the present administration on its developmental strides across the three Senatorial Districts, as well as the distribution of  dividends of democracy to the grassroots, calling on the people to continue to support the government.


In his opening remarks, the Chairman 2023 Obaruwa Planning Committee, Otunba Adebowale Atoloye, solicited the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to incorporate Makun troupe into the existing cultural troupes in the State, to avail indigenes the opportunity to contribute to the development of culture and tourism sector.
