Leading contender for the Ogun East Senatorial seat in the 2023 senatorial election - Otunba Adewale Adenaike who is vying under the auspices of the Social Democratic Party, has said that there is no iota of truth in the rumour making the rounds that he has withdrawn from the senatorial race, which election will take place this Saturday, February 25th, 2023. 

Describing it as "a lie from the pit of hell, which only exists in the mind of it's progenitors". The Senatorial Candidate said the rumour is not just the handiwork of evil minded people who do not want anything good for the hardworking and industrious people of the senatorial district, but also a sad reflection of their desperate attempt to snatch victory from the people. 

Otunba Adenaike said he has been inundated with several phone calls and personal visitations from concerned supporters, Party Leaders and members, media men, friends, well-wishers and family members asking him to confirm if it is true that he has withdrawn from the senatorial race. Speaking further, the Senatorial Candidate said: "Initially, I took it as a joke, but when the calls increased and will not stop, it dawned on me that evil men who know that they have lost the election have gone to work to device unGodly and unethical strategy for victory. In view of this wicked rumour, it has become necessary to ask my supporters to disregard completely the said rumour and continue to encourage our people to keep faith as the day of celebration is just some few hours away". Dear supporters, do not yield to their antics. Do not allow them to deceive you. We knew they will eventually deploy this strategy hence we took the pains to follow the path of hardwork. We have all worked very hard. We should not allow them to succeed in their evil scheme."  

While encouraging his supporters not to lose faith, Otunba Adenaike expressed optimism in the ability of the people to deliver the senatorial seat on the day of the election to him.
