Engr. Adenaike defeats Sokoya at the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court, today, in Abuja reaffirmed the candidacy of Engr. (Dr) Adewale Adenaike to contest the Senatorial seat of Ogun East under the umbrella of Social Democratic Party.

Speaking to Pressmen in Ijebu-Ode, Engr. Adenaike said he is grateful to God for ensuring that justice was not only done but seen to be done. "The legal tussle that was embarked upon by my opponent was an embarrassment to our democracy and an exhibition of inordinate ambition" "A waste of resources", he said.

"Elections are meant to be won at the polls not in the Courts" Adenaike asserted.

Recall that Adenaike won the Primary Elections held on the 30th May 2022 after which, his opponent, Mr Adewale Sokoya proceeded to the Courts claiming that Adenaike was disqualified from taking part in the Primaries, a claim that was debunked by the Party.

The lead Judge, Hon. Justice John Okoro and 6 others dismissed Sokoya's petition for lack of merit.

Adenaike says "I'm extending my hand of fellowship to Sokoya to come on board, let's close ranks so that our Party, the SDP, can be victorious at the polls"

"Together We Can and Together We Should" he prayed

Adenaike Campaign Council immediately sprung into action by coming out with a robust campaign plan for the next two weeks.
