The Chairman, Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede Joshua, has said that effective handling and tutoring of students with love and care would propel academic advancement.
Ifede who made this known during the monitoring by Board members and top TESCOM management staff to some secondary schools in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the State, said it was high time to deployed innovations and strategy that would enable learners to excel within and outside the school environment, particularly in any higher institution they might find themselves.
He commended the attendance of teachers and administrators in the schools visited, noting that their diligence indicates zealousness to infuse improved knowledge and skills on students in classrooms.
The TESCOM boss charged the teaching and non-teaching staff to work hard and ensure that the school Higher Educational Potential (HEP) initiative is better than previous years, stating that their support for the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration in revamping the education sector would go a long way in repositioning the school system.
In his contribution, the Permanent Secretary, TESCOM, Dr. Abdulwaheed Olanloye advised the teachers to always dress well , noting that they were symbols of emulation to their students, adding that it was imperative for them to be upright in their dispositions to official duties, which he said would attract reward from organisations and government.
In her response, the Principal, Egba Owode Grammar School, Mrs. Victoria Makinde, said her school had carried out impacted activities before the resumption for the 2nd term, to achieve academic standard, stating that the school authority would reciprocate the present administration’s benevolence towards teachers’ welfare.
Other schools visited were, Kobape Community High School, Siun High School, Owode Community High School.
