The Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu has presented selected judgments of the Ogun State Customary Court of Appeal (CCA) law report, as well as the newly amended rules to the bar and the general public, to serve as guidelines for prompt service delivery at the grassroots level.
Justice Dipeolu made the presentation at the State Customary Court, Isabo, Abeokuta, saying the report of the selected judgment would provide compendium for stakeholders and litigants, where they would have access to the decisions of the Court.
The Chief Judge said, "presently there were six judges at the State CCA, while appointment exercise of more Judges to the court is ongoing".
In his welcome address, the President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Mobolaji Ojo stated that the CCA was a specialised Court that allows Legal practitioners to develop skills to successfully practice in the court.
Justice Ojo noted that it became necessary to effect some amendments and introduce new provision, in order to fill the gap in the old rules which had been incorporated into the new rules.
He said the support of the present administration, the Chief Judge of Ogun State , the commitment of the CCA Law Reporting Committee, and the CCA Rules Review Committee had made the publication a reality.
Justice Ojo disclosed that physical structures of some courts had been renovated and equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities, to ensure conducive environment .
He added that recruitment of staff from Grade Level 2 to 8 had been embarked upon, adding that a three-day training programme was held to enhance maximum and efficient service delivery.
