OGUN ANCOPSS ASSURES CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR GOVT EDUCATION POLICIES

Ogun State All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) says it will do everything within its ability in supporting the government to realise its policies and programmes for the greatness of the education sector.

The Newly Elected President of the association, Mr. Edward Adekoya gave the assurance in Abeokuta, during a familiarisation visit of the new executive to the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, revealing its yearnings, demands and expectations over 30 years were met within the three years of Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

Adekoya said various distinguished awards won by the Governor were results of his massive investment in the sector, acknowledging various benefits being enjoyed by the association under the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun in the State.

He appreciated the Commissioner for the cooperation that led to the success of the past executive of the association, adding that the generosity received from him had taken the group to a higher level.

In his address, Prof. Arigbabu said ANCOPSS in Ogun State had proven to be consistent, forward-looking, progressive, supportive and full of initiatives in promoting the actions of the government for better education standards.

The Commissioner enjoined members of the Association to remain progressive and objective in their approach to issues in their Schools, adding that religious tolerance should be allowed for a peaceful and conducive academic atmosphere.

Arigbabu said, “as long as ANCOPSS continues to pursue its agenda, it will continue to enjoy the support and respect of the stakeholders particularly the Ministry of Education”.

Earlier in her remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye said the ANCOPSS remains a critical stakeholder to the Ministry, hence the need to work together in harmony for the improvement of the sector.
