COMMISSIONER CHARGES CIVIL SERVANTS ON RESULT-DRIVEN PERFORMANCE

 


Ogun State Civil Servants have been charged to perform their duties effectively and be result-driven, so as to contribute adequately to the development of the State in the year 2023.


Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe gave the charge during the Prayers and Thanksgiving Service at the Ministry's Conference Room, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta held in commemoration of the first official day at work.


Longe said Civil Servants need to take bold steps towards improving on their schedule of duties and exceed past achievements recorded in the outgone year.


"It is not about efforts, but about results. Are you achieving what you set out to do? Closely related to that is our resolve to be hard working and keep developing ourselves. Let us roll up our sleeves to work very hard and make a difference", the Commissioner said.


In his address, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola urged workers to be well prepared to optimally harness opportunities around them to succeed, noting that the Ministry required collective efforts of every worker in the attainment of its goals. He added that they should build trust and a better relationship with God.


Delivering an Islamic sermon, the Ministry's Deputy Director, Administration and Supplies, Mr. Abdul Jeleel Adetona, who cited Quran 53:59 called on the staffers of the Ministry to work hard and avoid indolence, while a Chief Trade Officer in the Ministry, Mrs. Esther Maku who delivered a Christian sermon admonished workers to have trust in the Lord, avoid evil deeds and render effective service to aid development of the Ministry and State.


In their responses, two of the staffers in the Ministry, Mrs. Abisola Sowunmi and Mr. Oriyomi Idowu stated their determination to continue to discharge their duties diligently, to enable the Ministry achieve more in the new year.


Prayers were also offered for the State government, the Ministry, political appointees and members of staff.
