The senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun Central senatorial district, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu today continued his campaign consultations and interactions across the six local government areas that make up Ogun central senatorial district of the state.
The consultation and interactions are a build-up to the final flag-off of his door-to-door campaign and open-air rallies which are scheduled to kick off soon.
Alhaji Salisu started the day by featuring as a guest on “The chat” a one-hour live interactive Programme on Splash 106.7FM Abeokuta where he spoke extensively about his plans for the people of Ogun central senatorial district and also responded to questions and concerns raised by those who joined the programme on radio and Facebook.
Accompanied by the Director General of his campaign council, Engineer Babatunde Adesina, and other party leaders, the APC candidate also met with market leaders in Abeokuta township as part of consultations with heads of various sectors within the senatorial district.
Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu was also a worthy guest at Iyetedo, a boundary community between Obafemi Owode and Abeokuta south Local government areas of the state where he intimated the leaders and chiefs of his plans to ensure that Ogun Central senatorial district does not only become relevant in national discourse but maintain its status as the premier senatorial district that has produced worthy ambassadors of Ogun state and by extension Yoruba land.
He said “Better days are here for Egba nation and that process has started. I am the worthy inheritor of the Egba heritage, and I symbolize the tradition that binds us together. The political barometer of Ogun central is largely a reflection of how Ogun state is perceived, that is why I am insisting that the quality of people you send to the national assembly will determine the kind of representation you get as a people. If you send someone whose main preoccupation is to launder a reputation, then, what you end up having is just someone who wants to have the appendage of a senator behind his name”.
A similar feat was repeated at Oluwo community near Onikolobo in Abeokuta where he assured community leaders of his commitment to be a vibrant and credible ambassador of the senatorial district when he gets to the National Assembly.
According to him “APC remains the party to beat in Ogun state and I urge you to work relentlessly to ensure that our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu emerges victorious, ensure that Governor Dapo Abiodun is re-elected for another term while I also plead with you to support those of us vying to become your representative in the national assembly and at the state house of assembly”
He wrapped up today’s activities by joining the Christian faithful at a New year get-together held at The Praise Tabernacle International Chapel, Onikolobo, Abeokuta where he was received by the Pastor of the Church, Pastor Isreal Abiodun Ajayi.
Salisu and his campaign team officially started the interactive sessions on the first working day of the new year by meeting with Apex leaders of the All Progressives Congress across the six local government areas in the senatorial district.
The meeting is a step board to the final flag-off of the open-air rally and door-to-door meetings across the senatorial district.
