The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alh. Odusile Abdulwaheed has reaffirmed that the Ministry is irrevocably committed to re-awakening the people towards embracing the State’s core values, with a view to mobilizing them positively towards government policies and programmes. 

Odusile stated this while taking his turn to defend his Ministry budget estimates before the State House Committee on Finance and Appropriation led Hon. Olakunle Sobunkanla at the ongoing 2023 budget  defence session, held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with a renewed assurance that the Ministry would set out more public-oriented strategies towards branding the State to leverage on the successes achieved on developmental projects.

To achieve the foregoing, the Commissioner proposed a total budget expenditure of N578.34m, consisting of N110.23m for capital projects and N468.11m for recurrent expenditure, with revenue target put at N35.28m for the next fiscal year.

In a related development, the General Manager, Ogun State Television (OGTV), Tunde Kazeem intimated the lawmakers that the broadcast station had set out to improve on its programme production and content; improve on revenue generation, as well as picture quality and signal strength in the next fiscal year.

Consequently, Kazeem proposed a total budget estimate of N900.28m, out of which N441.07m would cater for capital projects including the procurement of additional digital equipment, while N459.2m was earmarked for recurrent expenditures, with revenue projection put at N841.12m. 

Also, his OGBC counterpart, Mrs. Toyin Sogbesan presented a total budget proposal of N677.55m for the next fiscal year, comprising N294.09m for capital projects and N383.4m for recurrent expenditure, while N714.6m was expected to be generated into government’s coffers.

 Other agencies that defended their budget proposals for the next physical year included the State Ministry of Environment, State Muslim Pilgrims Board, its Christian Pilgrims Board counterpart, Office of the Auditor General for State, that of the  Local Government Audit as well as the State Independent Electoral Commission, Bureau of Information Technology, State Signage and Advertising Agency and State Printing Corporation amongst others.
