WE’LL CONTINUE TO HONOUR AKARIGBO -OOUTH RESIDENT DOCTORS



The President, Association of Resident Doctors, Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Dr. Bukola Oluseun has said that the Association would continue to honour the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi for his exemplary fatherly role in the area.


Dr. Oluseun gave the assurance at the Akarigbo’s Palace, Sagamu during a medical outreach organised in commemoration of the Monarch's 60th birthday and fifth coronation anniversary, noting his philanthropic gesture in promoting healthy living, among others had put Remoland in a vantage position.   


The medical expert pointed out that the double celebration coincided with the Annual General Meeting of the Association, saying the outreach covered medical tests on HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, as well as COVID-19 vaccination, cancer screening, free eye test and surgery for cataracts patients, and many more.


In his response, Oba Ajayi appreciated the Association for its support and contributions to enhance the health status of the residents, and people for turning out for the screening,  admonishing them to take proper care of their health and ensure to take the drugs administered to them as prescribed. 


Two of the beneficiaries, Mr. Kayode Soremekun and Mrs. Omolara Agbelu applauded Akarigbo and the Association for the outreach,  saying it had availed them the opportunity to do surgery and cancer screening.


Meanwhile, the Remo indigenes in Ogun East Senatorial District of the State have rejoiced with Oba Babatunde Ajayi as he celebrated his 5th year coronation and 60th birthday.


Speaking, the Asiwaju of Remoland, Asiwaju Kayode Onafowokan described the Akarigbo as a man of the people whose wealth of experience had promoted love among the people of the Kingdom.


In his remarks, the Elepe of Epe, Oba Adewale Osiberu said Remoland had recorded tremendous achievements in the last five years of Oba Ajayi's reign, attributing the existing unity among traditional rulers to the Monarch’s commitment to the development of Remoland.
