Ogun State Government has approved the commencement of a working document for the implementation of the Human Capital Development Programme (HCDP), which would further aid healthy living and productive citizenry for the acceleration of overall development across the key sectors of the economy in the State.
The Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako Oyedele revealed this at the second technical meeting of the Technical Working Group (TWG), in Abeokuta, saying the decision was taken after scrutiny and harmonisation of the contributions of the Group.
Engr.Salako-Oyedele, represented by the Head of Service, Dr.Nafiu Aigoro commended the TWG for their commitment towards the preparation of the workplan that was in three thematic areas; Health, Education, and Labour Force Participation.
According to her, "I commend the TWG for your dedication to this course of developing the capacity of the citizens. After careful scrutiny and consideration of the addition to the policy, I hereby approve the effective implementation of the HCDP policy in the State, and I assure you that all the suggestions, proposals, and contributions will be considered and adopted for result-based outcomes’’.
Contributing, Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan said the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration was poised to build institutional frameworks that would assist in the delivery of meaningful and people-centric dividends of democracy, assuring that concerted effort would be geared towards sourcing for viable partnerships and funding options for programmes that would add value to their daily living.
Mr. Olabimtan, who doubles as the HCDP Focal Person reminded members of the TWG to ensure harmonisation of strategies and efforts with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government, emphasising the need to conduct Geo-mapping survey with productive and required linkages for effective take-off and implementation of the Programme.
In their separate presentations, the representatives of the three thematic areas assured that their respective agencies would work assiduously to improve on interventions, partnerships and linkages, and facilitate direct impact interventions towards accelerating human capital development of the citizenry.
